What Artists WearManchester | 2024
My print ‘Blossom No.21’ from ‘The Blossom Series’ was featured in the autumn window display at Blue Rinse, a vintage store in Manchester, as part of the ‘What Artists Wear’ exhibition.
‘What Artists Wear’ explores the intersection of art and fashion, highlighting how personal style and artistic expression often go hand in hand. The display included mannequins styled in vintage, sustainable clothing, with each outfit inspired by the artwork, bringing fashion and art together. The exhibition invited viewers to think about how the clothes we wear can be an extension of our creativity and identity.
I applied for this opportunity hoping it could be my first chance to present my work in Manchester since returning to Staffordshire after completing my degree in Plymouth. It was amazing to see that Blue Rinse wanted to support local artists by merging art and fashion in such an engaging way. I am continuing to explore the Manchester art scene, to understand how I can become more involved in the future.
