About me:

I am a Plymouth-based printmaker, originally from Staffordshire. I graduated from Arts University Plymouth in 2024 with a BA (Hons) in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking.

My practice centres on contemporary printmaking, exploring colour, shape, and composition through linocut and screenprinting. I respond to my photography, often using digital software to experiment, generate ideas, and prepare designs for traditionally produced printmaking outcomes. My work moves between levels of abstraction and figuration to challenge alternative ways of representing photographs. The Blossom Series is an ongoing body of work; I use blossom as a visual motif to explore this idea of transformation, while maintaining a sense of continuity and familiarity.

Drawing encourages a different approach to image generation in my art practice. I work with charcoal to play around with the content. I often translate these drawn ideas into spontaneous ink paintings that break down the image into shapes and remove elements of detail, allowing a level of intrigue for the viewer.

Work from The Blossom Series has been shown in group exhibitions including the Thelma Hulbert Gallery Open (Honiton), Artober (Plymouth), the Ironbridge Printmaking Competition (Shropshire), and the Vanner Gallery (Salisbury) in association with The Graduate Art Show. Works will soon be exhibited at Delamore Arts, in the Artizan Collective Contemporary British Printmakers 2026 showcase, and at the Peirson and Peirson gallery in Plymouth, in their Contemporary Art Prize exhibition.

I am currently exploring ways to introduce sustainable considerations into my practice through ‘Let’s Make Change’, part of the Creative Climate Programme by Plymouth Culture in partnership with Art and Energy. I was recently based at Ocean Studios (Royal William Yard) as an Artist in Residence with Real Art Make Print, and I was awarded a commission grant by Green Communities, funded by the National Trust, to deliver a project with a local community group. These opportunities allow me to push the boundaries of my practice and engage the public by exploring the relationship between printmaking and themes of nature.
