Artist Residency, RAMP 2024 - 2025
Residency / Project
November 2024 – May 2025
Since graduating, I have dedicated my time to working as a Freelance Artist, seeking commissions and collaborative projects, exhibiting my work across the South West and in Manchester, and contributing to the delivery of exhibitions. These initiatives have allowed me to learn new skills, manage multiple deadlines, and build curatorial experience.
Between November 2024 and May 2025, I undertook an Artist Residency with Real Art Make Print, which offered me valuable studio time, introduced me to an amazing community of artists, gave me opportunities to continue gaining curatorial experience, and provided mentoring and business support.
I made progress with my printmaking practice, working in their relief print room to make lino prints, and in their screen print room, where I have expanded my knowledge of working with different processes and techniques within screen printing.
Regarding the art that I made, my focus remained towards building on ‘The Blossom Series’, a body of work that I began in 2023 during my studies at Arts University Plymouth. Working with a limited theme allowed me to continue exploring the potential of blossom as a subject, considering aspects such as breaking down shapes, testing colourways and learning new ways to print.
During the course of the residency, RAMP held Print in Action, their annual printmaking festival. I volunteered to co-organise and curate a group exhibition, P is for Print, which showcased the work of 37 artists. I also independently delivered linocut workshops to diverse audiences over the two days of the festival.
Thank you to the RAMP team for providing this opportunity and offering valuable support, and to the community of artists at RAMP for the countless creative conversations and sharing the excitement of making art.
